During the Empathy in a World with No Average workshop, designers got the chance to experience simulated disabilities — glasses that mimic visual impairments, gloves to simulate various levels of arthritis, and funkify challenges to perform simple tasks online with various simulated impairments. With a new experience of empathy, designers worked together to design digital experiences that work for everyone. Because there is no “average” user.

Beyond the initial sold-out workshop at Design Portland, this workshop has been repeated with rave reviews and deep learning across numerous conferences and for enterprise-level clients.
