Fewer, Better Meetings

In a remote first culture, it is easy to fall into a pattern of having too many meetings with too little intention, and this initiative aimed to address that problem. After careful study of the problem and the best practices of how to solve it, the meetings culture revamp was born.

Key components of the program included:

  • Meeting with intention training company wide

  • Rolling out shared practices for internal and client meetings including: labeling the type of meeting, including notes and agendas, identifying note-takers, and rating each meeting at the end of it

  • Instituting a meeting free day for deep focus time

  • Building a campaign aimed at candidate recruitment with meeting culture as a differentiator

After a few months, employees reported 84% noticing improvement in meeting quality, 77% having more focus time, and 62% feeling more comfortable declining unnecessary meetings. The result was lasting change, spending less time in meetings, and time spent in meetings bein more focused, connected, and valuable, sending team members off inspired and invigorated.
